since 11/2007
Postdoctoral Research at the Clark Center, Department of Biology, Stanford University (Principal Investigator: Dr. Carla J. Shatz)

2002-2007
Doctoral Research at the Department of Molecular Neurogenetics, MPI of Psychiatry and Institute of Developmental Genetics, GSF-Research Center (adviser: Dr. Wolfgang Wurst)
  • Mapping of the expression of Fgf receptors in the developing midbrain and hindbrain of the mouse
  • Morphological analysis of an allelic series of conditional Fgfr1 and Fgfr2 knock out mice revealed functional redundancy of these receptors in midbrain and hindbrain development
  • Identification of specific roles for Fgfr1 in development of dopaminergic and serotonergic neurons in the ventral midbrain and hindbrain
  • Studies on the role of the growth factor Wnt1 in generation of midbrain dopaminergic neurons by analysis of Wnt1 overexpressing mice
2000-2002
Graduate Research at the Department of Neurobiochemistry, Max Planck Institute of Neurobiology (adviser: Dr. Georg Dechant)
  • Study on kinase activation after ligand stimulation of a novel chicken GDNF family receptor
1999-2000
Undergraduate Research at the Department of Neurobiochemistry, Max Planck Institute of Neurobiology, (adviser: Dr. Georg Dechant)
  • Regulation of MHC class II expression on chicken sympathetic neuroblasts by the zinc finger transcription factor mZFP122
